Brian Austin Green has shared positive remarks about his friend and fellow Beverly Hills, 90210 star, Shannen Doherty, who is currently battling cancer. In an interview with E! News on September 13, the 50-year-old actor provided an update on the 52-year-old Shannen’s condition, describing her as extraordinary in facing this ordeal.
“She’s doing great,” Brian said enthusiastically. “She’s tough. I mean, if there’s anyone I know that can handle what she’s going through, it’s her.”
This latest update comes three months after Shannen Doherty announced that her cancer had spread to her brain. On June 6, through her Instagram account, Shannen shared a video of her cancer treatment and revealed that the cancer had metastasized. In the video caption, she explained that a CT scan on January 5, 2023, showed brain metastases, and the video showed the process of fitting the mask used during radiation to her brain.
Shannen Doherty also spoke about her feelings during the radiation treatment. “January 12, the first radiation session took place. My fear was evident,” she said. She admitted experiencing claustrophobia and facing many changes in her life. However, she expressed deep gratitude for the support of her medical team, including Dr. Amin Mirahdi and the technicians at Cedar Sinai.
Furthermore, Shannen Doherty recently celebrated Brian Austin Green’s birthday on July 15 through her Instagram account. In the photo caption featuring Brian and their friends by the pool, Shannen expressed her love for Brian. The post received numerous comments from her followers offering support and admiration for Shannen’s strength.
As additional information, Shannen was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015, and after recovering, her cancer returned and progressed to stage IV in February 2020. Despite her struggle against cancer, Shannen was also given the opportunity to vacation in Italy on August 14, demonstrating her resilience and determination in this battle.
