Four-star RB Tory Blaylock commits to Oklahoma.

Tory Blaylock, a four-star running back from Humble, Texas, has committed to the Oklahoma Sooners for the 2025 recruiting class. The son of former NFL running back Derrick Blaylock, Tory had over 30 scholarship offers to choose from, including top programs like Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, and Texas. However, he ultimately decided to join the Sooners, becoming the lone running back pledge in their 2025 class, which is currently ranked in the top-10 nationally.

Blaylock’s game is centered around his exceptional speed, making him a dynamic threat on the field. He has showcased his speed in various ways, including being part of a national record-setting 4×1 relay team and clocking a 4.4 forty-yard dash. In addition to his speed, Blaylock is a versatile player who can catch the ball out of the backfield and excel as a blocker, providing valuable support for his quarterback. While he tends to look for opportunities to break plays outside the tackles, he has also demonstrated his ability to run between the tackles and get physical with defenders. Once he gets into the open field, it’s nearly impossible for defenders to catch up to him.

With Blaylock’s commitment, the Sooners have made significant strides in the Rivals 2025 Team Rankings, moving up to the 5th spot from 8th. This rise has allowed them to surpass programs like Auburn, Alabama, and Penn State, positioning themselves as the 2nd ranked team in the SEC recruiting rankings, just behind LSU. Oklahoma’s 2025 class now consists of 10 commitments, with seven of them being four-star prospects, further solidifying the program’s future prospects.

Overall, Tory Blaylock’s addition to the Sooners’ recruiting class brings a new level of speed and versatility to the team, enhancing their chances of continued success in the upcoming seasons. His commitment signifies a bright future for Oklahoma football and showcases the program’s ability to attract top talent from across the country.
