Gold prices rose Rs 3,400 per tola in Pakistan

KARACHI: Gold prices recorded major gains in Pakistan following a surge in gold prices in the international market on Thursday.

The price of gold (24 carat) rose by Rs3,400 to Rs239,400 per tola, All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewelery Association (APSGJA) sources said.

In international markets, the price of gold jumped $7 to $1,945 per ounce.

On Monday, prices were recorded to fall in Pakistan despite an increase of $1 in international markets.

The price of gold (24 carat) fell by IDR 1,500 per tola to IDR 233,000, while the price of 10 gram gold fell by IDR 1,286 to IDR 99,760. On the international market, the price of gold experienced a nominal increase of $1 to $1,915 per ounce.

Gold prices in Pakistan have recently been volatile amid ongoing political and economic instability.
