Liverpool is reportedly beginning to search for a replacement for Mohamed Salah, making a former pupil of Pep Guardiola their top priority.
The January 2024 winter transfer window has not yet begun and will only open in a few months.
However, some clubs are already busy with transfer plans, including Liverpool.
As reported by BolaSport.com from Mirror.co.uk, Liverpool is said to have started searching for a replacement for their star winger, Mohamed Salah.
Liverpool is taking this step because the winger continues to be linked with a move to the Saudi Arabian League.
Until now, Mo Salah remains the target of Al Ittihad.
Moreover, Al Ittihad plans to bring Mo Salah in by breaking the world transfer record.
Previously, Liverpool had rejected a £200 million (around Rp3.9 trillion) offer from Al Ittihad for the Egyptian winger.
However, Al Ittihad does not give up and continues to try to recruit Mo Salah.
This was also stated by Michael Emenalo, the Director of the Saudi Pro League Football.
“Mo can come anytime. Mo is a personal favorite of mine,” Emenalo said.
“There are many world-class players who have shown their interest. This is a place where you can go and have fun and definitely boost their economy,” he added.
To anticipate any unwanted events with Mo Salah’s departure, The Reds have prepared a new plan.
According to Mirror.co.uk reports, Liverpool intends to recruit Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane.
Sane himself has the ability to cut inside, speed, and a fairly proficient set piece.
Liverpool plans to bring in the German winger in the January 2024 transfer window.
However, The Reds seem to have to dig deep if they want to bring in Sane.
According to Transfermarkt data quoted by BolaSport.com, Sane’s market value is around €65 million or equivalent to around Rp1.08 trillion.
With an age of 27 and a contract that runs until 2025, Sane’s price could be higher than his market value.
Liverpool is said to be ready to target Leroy Sane as their number one target if Mohamed Salah leaves the team. Rumors have it that Salah will sooner or later accept an offer from a Saudi Arabian league club.
Efforts by Saudi Arabian league clubs to approach Salah have already started since the beginning of the year and heated up during the last transfer window. However, Salah does not seem interested in leaving Liverpool and Europe.
Rumors emerged that during the last transfer window, Liverpool rejected a fantastic offer from Al Ittihad. It was reported that the Saudi Pro League club was prepared to pay £150 million to get Salah.
Liverpool did manage to keep Salah last summer, but the situation is not entirely secure. Al Ittihad and other Saudi Arabian league clubs are ready to move as soon as they get the chance.
It is even rumored that next summer, Saudi clubs will approach Salah again. At that time, the situation might be more challenging for Liverpool.
Salah is now 31 years old, and by next summer, he will be 32. So, keeping Salah might be harder for Liverpool.
If fantastic offers from the Saudi Arabian league return, Liverpool might find it challenging to reject. This means that Salah may leave the team at the end of the 2023/2024 season at the earliest.
Hence, rumors have emerged that Liverpool is starting to look for a potential replacement for Salah. So far, the strongest name mentioned is Leroy Sane from Bayern Munich.
According to Mirror, Liverpool is ready to break the club’s transfer fee record to bring Sane in. Klopp will approach Sane directly and ask him to return to the Premier League and play for Liverpool.
