Love Is Blind Season 5 Couples’ Weddings Cut From the Show

Contestant from Love Is Blind season five, Renee Poche, revealed that she got engaged on the show and continued filming her journey to the altar. Find out more about her love life.

Netflix did not say “I do” to this couple.

Love Is Blind season five contestant Renee Poche disclosed that she got engaged to her co-star Carter Wall and continued shooting the show until their wedding day. However, their love story was never aired in that season, whose final episode was released on October 13.

“We were chosen to be followed throughout the rest of the journey,” Renee told Pop Sugar earlier this month. “We did make it all the way to the altar, but we did not get married.”

After the proposal, Renee and Carter went on vacation to Mexico with other engaged couples, where she said “everything was going really well.” As Renee put it, “We were always very fun, funny, happy, and enjoyed each other’s company.”

However, according to the veterinarian, their relationship started to crack when they returned home.

“When we came back to Houston and back to the real world, I started noticing things I overlooked or ignored, which were red flags I should have paid attention to,” she said. “And eventually, I said ‘no’ at the altar.”

Renee admitted she was “shocked” to find out their storyline had been cut from the season.

“I got a call a few months before the show aired, in August, letting me know that our story wouldn’t be a significant focus,” she said. “I did seek clarification because initially, I was very confused. My first question was, ‘Wait, the wedding isn’t going to be aired?’”

Regarding what viewers missed out on, Renee teased, “It was an emotional roller coaster. There were ups and downs. There were a lot of funny moments, even better than some of the small clips they showed. It was truly amazing to watch even through the very difficult parts.”

And even though she didn’t find everlasting happiness with Carter, Renee later married another man after filming ended, although she kept her husband’s identity a secret. She said they matched through a dating app years ago and went on a few dates back then.

“We only really started dating again a few months after our filming ended,” she reminisced. “We finished filming in June, and we didn’t go out until September or October. I think I was at a point where I was very ready for a real relationship and very excited for everything, and he saw the opportunity, so we did it. him!”

And she wasn’t the only one whose Love Is Blind scene was cut: season five contestants Paige Tillman and Josh Simmons shared on Instagram that they also got engaged in the pod but weren’t chosen to be filmed after the proposal. The couple eventually broke up when they ‘realized that we just wanted different things in life.’

Dive deeper into the Love Is Blind relationships that happened off-camera:

Paige Tillman and Josh Simmons

Paige Tillman and Josh Simmons got engaged during season five but the cameras stopped rolling after the proposal, and they didn’t get much screen time.

“After the show, we remained engaged and even planned our wedding,” they said in a joint Instagram post in October 2023. “While we shared love, we fell deeply in love, and also realized that we just wanted different things in life. We made the toughest decision to end our engagement, we just love and respect each other and always will.”

Renee Poche and Carter Wall

This couple got engaged in season five, went to Mexico with the cast, and were filmed until their wedding day, Renee Poche told Pop Sugar in October 2023. However, their love story was cut from the show.

“When we came back to Houston and back to the real world, I started noticing things I overlooked or ignored, which were red flags I should have paid attention to,” said the veterinarian. “And eventually, I said ‘no’ at the altar.”

Renee explained that there was “so much” the cameras didn’t capture. “It was an emotional roller coaster. There were ups and downs,” she continued. “There were a lot of funny moments, even better than some of the small clips they showed. It was truly amazing to watch even through the very difficult parts.”

Marshall Glaze and Kacia Clark

After his engagement with Jackie Bonds ended early in the fourth season—and his former fiancée quickly moved on by dating another pod connection, Josh Demas—Marshall exclusively revealed to E! News that he attempted to rebound with another cast member he connected with in the pods.

“I actually reached out to Kacia,” Marshall told E! News’ Erin Lim Rhodes. “We did try.” Kacia didn’t get much screen time on the show, but she made a deep impression on Marshall. Unfortunately, he explained that he was still too hung up on his failed relationship with Jackie to make it work.

“I just wanted to get away from all of that, from that experience,” said Marshall. “It’s going to be hard to try to get into a relationship.”

Jackie Bonds and Josh Demas

Technically, viewers could see the beginning of Jackie and Josh’s controversial relationship, even though Jackie responded to claims they started dating before she broke up with Marshall. Via Instagram on April 10 to “set the record straight,” Jackie clarified the timeline and denied cheating on her former fiancé.

“Marshall and I broke up before I saw Josh at the coffee shop. I wore a different outfit, my hair was styled differently, and at the end of the video, I said ‘I DON’T KNOW IF I’M GOING TO BE WITH JOSH,’” she wrote. “I’m not sure why he’s playing the date in the coffee shop before the break-up.”

During the live reunion, Jackie revealed she and Josh had been dating since the show ended and had recently moved in together. Following the special’s airing, Jackie posted a tribute to her boyfriend on social media. “A year standing side by side with my partner. Our journey to find each other was not easy, but it was worth it,” she wrote alongside a series of photos of herself with Josh. “Thank you for loving me, standing by me, and protecting me. I love you forever and in every way.”

Paul Peden and Wendi Kong

Torn between Micah Lussier and Amber Wilder, Paul eventually chose to propose to Micah, only to be the one to say no at the altar. And after the filming of season four wrapped, Paul decided to rekindle a relationship he had since the experiment’s beginning, but not with Amber.

“There was another girl, Wendi, an aerospace engineer,” Paul exclusively revealed to E! News. “I talked to her a lot. I had a crazy connection with her.” Although Wendi was another woman who didn’t get much screen time, Paul narrated that he was bonded with her in the real world. However, he clarified that they were “never exclusive, but kept dating.”

The pair was together only briefly because, as Paul put it, they were almost too similar.

“It was almost too much,” Paul told Lim Rhodes. “I like myself, but I don’t know if I like myself that much to marry myself. We were very much alike.”

Kyle Abrams and Deepti Vempati

After months of speculation that their friendship had blossomed into romance following their respective broken engagements, this season two duo revealed they were dating during the Love Is Blind spin-off series After the Altar. Unfortunately, Kyle and Deepti had already parted ways when their episode aired in September last year.

“I understand many of you are curious about Deepti’s and my position right now,” Kyle wrote in an Instagram post on September 19. “Since After the Altar was filmed, we decided to separate in early summer.”

Kyle has moved on, exclusively confirming to E! News he’s engaged to Tania Leanos after proposing in Chicago on April 11.

“After our first date, I told my mom and my best friend that I found my wife, and I was going to marry her as soon as possible,” Kyle told E! News. “Tania is the perfect combination of heart, humor, and brains. Her parenting and nurturing are unparalleled, and I am always amazed by the love that emanates from her.”

Shayne Jansen and Shaina Hurley

True or not? After Shayne chose to propose to Natalie Lee in season two, Shaina still expressed her feelings for him. And after Shayne and Natalie didn’t get married at the end of the season, they tried to rekindle their relationship off-camera. But Natalie revealed during Love Is Blind After the Altar that she found “flirty messages” between her boyfriend and Shaina about “what would happen if they ended up together.” These direct messages led to the demise of their (second) love story, with Natalie explaining, “That’s why we’re not together anymore.”

On After the Altar, Shaina insisted it was “fabrication,” telling Shayne, “We were always appropriate. We never hung out alone.” (They, at that point, were indeed hanging out alone.)

During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Natalie stated “more” correspondence between Shayne and Shaina was left “on the cutting room floor.”

“I get it, in terms of how much can really fit in these three 45-minute episodes,” she said, “but what I got was, again, text messages and emails with Shayne, talking about him not sending Instagram messages, deleting messages, and DMs with Shaina, so it’s something that I brought up that didn’t make sense, which I think would have helped that storyline.”

Mark Cuevas and Lauren “LC” Chamblin

Although he initially proposed to Jessica Batten in the first season, Mark also had a connection with “LC” early on. So, after his relationship with Jessica ended, Mark and “LC” rekindled their relationship in real life. However, their love story didn’t last long, with LC ending things when she found out Mark was dating someone else.

“Mark and I were casually dating, but talking about being exclusive, especially because of COVID-19, but that is over now,” LC shared in a statement to E! News in June 2020. “The main thing I learned from the show and past relationships is that I deserve to be treated as a priority, not an option.”

In his own statement, Mark said, “I enjoyed spending time with LC for a few weeks, but we were never in an exclusive relationship, as confirmed by LC herself. I wish her the absolute best.”

Since then, Mark has found love with Aubrey Rainey, whom he married in September last year. The couple has two sons, Ace, 2, and Axton, 13 months.
