Megyn Kelly Slams “New Feminists” Upset Over “Barbie” Oscar Snubs
Earlier this week, we reported that liberals like Hillary Clinton were melting down over Oscar snubs for the movie “Barbie.” Now, the former Fox News host Megyn Kelly is calling out the “new feminists” who are upset about this. Kelly slammed the idea that all women should be entitled to Oscar nominations simply because they are women. The best supporting actress, America Ferrera, and screenwriter Greta Gerwig both received nominations for their work on the film. Kelly accused the so-called new feminists of being angry about the lack of recognition for the movie and its stars, Margot Robbie and Greta Gerwig. Ferrera also complained about the Oscar snubs for Gerwig and Robbie. She expressed her disappointment and admiration for both of them in a Variety interview, saying that Greta has done just about everything a director could do to deserve recognition, while Margot achieved an unbelievable feat as an actress and magician on screen. Ferrera’s comments indicated that the snub caused her disappointment.
Even the two-time failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton got in on the action by comforting Gerwig and Robbie on social media. Clinton praises the duo for their hard work on the movie and concludes her post with the hashtag “#HillaryBarbie.”
Opinions were divided about the uproar in response to the Oscar snubs. While some appreciated the recognition Ferrera received and questioned the necessity of nominating everyone involved in the movie, others sided with Ferrera, Robbie, and Gerwig, and criticized the sidelines in response to their hard work on the movie.
