Morgan Wallen Advises Fans Not to Tease Taylor Swift After Making Remarks at Concert: ‘We Don’t Need to Do That’

Morgan Wallen wants his fans to be cool about Taylor Swift.

They told me right before I walked out here that this is the biggest crowd they’ve ever had in this building’s history,” Wallen told the audience during his concert at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on Friday, April 5, which was recorded via TikTok. “And that we’re the first ones to do it two nights in a row. So, thank y’all for letting me say that.”

The announcement was met with applause from the audience. “I’ll say it until Taylor Swift comes to this town in the fall,” Wallen joked. While some of the audience cheered upon hearing this statement, others started yelling seriously.

“No, we don’t need to do that, we don’t need to heckle,” said the “Whiskey Glasses” singer to the audience but thanked his fans for their loyalty. “I appreciate it, I know y’all have always had my back.”

Swift is scheduled to perform in three sold-out shows at Lucas Oil Stadium in November as part of her Era Tour, which has consistently broken attendance records since it began in 2023, with one of her concerts even causing an earthquake in Los Angeles last August. Guinness World Records announced that the Era Tour is the highest-grossing concert tour of all time, surpassing $1 billion in revenue.

Swift’s 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, is set to be released on April 19. She announced the release date at the 2024 Grammy Awards after winning the Best Pop Vocal Album category. Swift, 34, is currently on a break from her Era Tour with her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, NFL tight end; the couple was spotted in Los Angeles in early April, enjoying time together before she returns to the stage.

“They’re focusing on rest and recovery as well as relaxing at home and spending time together in a laid-back and calm setting,” a source told Us Weekly in March. “They enjoy watching movies in their home theater, catching up on films and shows they missed.”

As for Wallen, the country music star might have the same collaborator as Swift: Post Malone. The “Overdrive” singer, who appears on Swift’s upcoming album, shared snippets of an unreleased song with Wallen via Instagram on March 20. “Let’s use the real mix this time @morganwallen 😂,” Malone, 28, wrote in the caption of the video.

At that time, Wallen responded to the post by commenting, “Got a little help to get to the point of posting it at 4 am. This song has been one of my favorites for a long time. Proud to be on it with you bub!!” Both musicians had previously performed together at the 2023 CMA Awards in November 2023.
