Sorenson CEO Emerges Victorious Among Elected HITEC 100 Leaders for 2024

Sorenson, the world’s leading language service provider specializing in inclusive communication capabilities for deaf, hard of hearing, and diverse individuals, recently announced that its CEO, Jorge Rodriguez, has been included in the prestigious HITEC 100 list for 2024. The HITEC 100 list recognizes the most influential and distinguished Hispanic professionals in the field of technology.

Last year, Rodriguez was appointed as the first Latino CEO of Sorenson. Known for his passionate advocacy for diversity and inclusion within the technology industry, Rodriguez believes in utilizing technology as a tool to enhance the lives of individuals worldwide.

HITEC, on an annual basis, acknowledges the accomplishments and contributions of top Hispanic technology executives in the United States. The goal is to celebrate their significant leadership and inspire others who aspire to pursue careers in technology.

With a vision to empower Latino technology leaders and achieve lasting equity, these acknowledgments create opportunities from the classroom to the boardroom. Rosa Ramos-Kwok, HITEC board chair, expressed her pride in the Hispanic Technology Executives, stating, “I am so proud to see the accomplishments of our Hispanic Technology Executives that are driving change and innovation in their organizations. The 2024 HITEC 100 Award recipients include highly respected Hispanic leaders from Fortune 100 global companies, encompassing CEOs, CIOs, CTOs, and professionals specializing in various technological disciplines. This year’s recipients consist of 49% Latinas and hail from 19 diverse countries in Latin America, Spain, and Portugal. They represent leaders from 63 different companies, with 36% receiving the HITEC 100 Award for the first time.

In addition to his role as Sorenson CEO, Rodriguez is expanding the company’s accessible and inclusive services to new communities and countries. With over 30 years of experience in the technology industry, he has previously served as president and CEO of several América Móvil companies, including Claro Enterprise Solutions and Telvista Inc.

Expressing his gratitude for being included in the HITEC 100 list, Rodriguez stated, “I am honored to be named to the HITEC 100 list. I am committed to using technology to make a positive and sustainable impact in the world, and I am proud to be a part of HITEC’s mission.”

Rodriguez holds an MBA from Columbia University, an MBA from the Rochester Institute of Technology, and is a graduate of the Kenan-Flagler Advanced Management Master’s Program at the University of Carolina in Chapel Hill. He also earned a BS in Molecular Biology from Colgate University and serves on external boards, including the Columbia University School of Professional Studies Board of Supervisors.
