Travares Daniels Commits to Indiana Hoosiers

Travares Daniels, a standout defender from Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas, has made his college decision. Instead of releasing a top group of programs, Daniels made a verbal commitment to the Indiana Hoosiers and their new coaching staff.

In an interview with Rivals, Daniels expressed his excitement about joining Indiana’s program in complete rebuild mode. He emphasized his belief in the coaching staff’s ability to turn the program around and his admiration for the defensive scheme implemented by Coach Bryant Hanies.

“I’m committed to IU!” Daniels announced. “IU is in complete rebuild mode. They have nearly a whole brand new coaching staff, and that coaching staff knows how and what it takes to win. I believe they just need the right players in the system to turn the program around. Ultimately, besides the great relationships I have with multiple coaches on the staff, what I love most about IU is the defensive scheme.”

Daniels has already visited Bloomington multiple times, attending a junior day, spring practice, and planning an official visit on June 21. He praised the campus layout, facilities, and the college town atmosphere of Bloomington.

“It’s amazing,” he said. “The campus is like a huge square, so everything is in walking distance. The facility is fire, everything is in-house. Once you enter the facility you don’t have to leave really until practice is over or whenever you want to leave.”

As Daniels prepares for his senior season, he has transitioned from a secondary player to a hybrid outside linebacker projection, showcasing his versatility on the field. His commitment to Indiana over other programs like Maryland, Georgia Tech, SMU, and South Florida reflects his confidence in the future of the Hoosiers’ program.

“The coaches are genuine and very honest with me,” he noted. “Every time I’ve been up there they treated me well, also. I just hope all IU fans are ready for coach Cig (Curt Cignetti) and this new coaching staff to turn this program around.”

Daniels concluded with a message to Indiana fans, promising to bring his best effort and dedication to the team: “I can guarantee that they’re getting a dog who is 1000% brought in and wants to be a part of the change! Go Hoosiers!”

With Daniels’ commitment, the Indiana Hoosiers add a talented and determined player to their roster, setting a positive tone for the program’s future under new leadership.
