The newest feature in eM Client allows users to export configurations using QR codes, providing a secure and efficient method to transfer settings such as account settings, signatures, and certificates to their mobile devices. This process involves advanced encryption steps to ensure data security:
– Data encryption: Information is encrypted on the original device using the 256-bit AES algorithm.
– Secure transfer: Encrypted data is sent to a secure server managed by eM Client.
– URL and QR generation: The server creates a QR code containing a unique identifier and encryption key.
– Scan and download: Mobile devices scan the QR code to download encrypted data from the server.
– Decoded: The eM Client mobile app decrypts and applies settings using the key from the QR code.
eM Client assures users that their data remains secure as the company never has direct access to it. Additionally, data stored on the server is only kept for a maximum of 30 minutes in operational memory, making it inaccessible in case of unauthorized access.
In addition to the QR code feature, eM Client has implemented push notifications in the mobile version to alert users of new messages. Due to limitations on background operations in iOS and Android, push notifications provide a solution by sending essential message information to the Firebase server, which then alerts the device about new messages.
The app ensures that all data used for notifications is encrypted and undergoes security audits by the Leviathan Security Group to meet industry standards. With these new features, eM Client continues to prioritize innovation and security, setting a new standard for managing personal information on mobile devices.
