Britney Spears Speaks Out After Alleged Slap by NBA Star Victor Wembanyama’s Security Guard in Vegas

Britney Spears has addressed the incident where she was allegedly slapped by a security guard of NBA player Victor Wembanyama at Catch restaurant in Las Vegas.

In a statement released on her Instagram Stories, Britney shared her account of what happened. She stated that she recognized an athlete in the hotel lobby and later saw him again at a different restaurant. According to her, the security guard backhanded her in the face without looking back, causing her glasses to fall off. She mentioned that she frequently deals with being surrounded by fans but her security team never resorts to violence.

Britney described the incident as embarrassing but felt it was important to share her story and emphasize the need for respect and setting an example for others in the public eye. She expressed her support for all victims of physical violence and called for a public apology from Victor and his team.

Victor Wembanyama, however, claimed that he didn’t witness the alleged assault and was grabbed from behind by someone. He stated that he was not aware of Britney’s involvement until later.

Britney’s husband, Sam Asghari, also issued a statement defending his wife and opposing violence in any form. He called for the man involved to learn a lesson and change his disregard for women.

Sam clarified that he didn’t want to blame Victor and criticized the security guard’s behavior and those who hired him without proper vetting. He emphasized the need for changes to address the systemic culture of disregard for women in sports and entertainment.

Following the incident, Britney filed a police report, and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department confirmed that an investigation has been documented, but no arrests or citations have been issued.

Representatives for Britney, Sam, and Victor have not yet responded to requests for comment.
