Cardi B and Offset Officially Break Up After 6 Years Together

Rapper Cardi B confirmed the rumors that she and her husband Offset have officially split after six years of marriage. The news was revealed during an Instagram Live session on Sunday, December 10th, where she addressed her fans and broke the news, stating, “I’ve been single for a minute now but I have been afraid to like — not afraid I just don’t know how to tell the world. But I feel like today has been a sign.” Cardi B also shared that she wanted to tell her fans in a previous Live session but changed her mind. “The last time I got on Live I kind of wanted to tell you guys, but I didn’t know how to tell you, so I changed my mind. But it has been like this for a minute now. I just took it as a sign.”

The pair, who brought several eyebrow-raising moments to their fans both on and off social media throughout the relationship, sparked breakup rumors when they recently unfollowed each other on social media. Additionally, Cardi fueled the rumors when she posted about “outgrowing relationships” and stated, “I GOTTA PUT MYSELF FIRST.” At this point, Offset has not released a formal statement regarding the breakup.

The confirmation of the breakup, came after the couple was spotted at the same event on Sunday night — TikTok In the Mix music festival in Mesa, Arizona — but were not photographed together. Despite continuous rumors, Cardi declared that it does not matter whether Offset has moved on or not while she was single. “I don’t care to find out because I’ve been single for a minute now.” Is that an indication that Offset has moved on, perhaps with her blessing? Only time will tell.

The breakup has led to speculation as to why the couple split. Offset recently took to social media, specifically X, formerly known as Twitter, to deny cheating on Cardi B following claims made by fellow rapper Blueface. “Real Talk man, you need some help!” said Offset, after denying allegations made by Blueface that he had been involved with another female rapper, Chrisean Rock, while still married to Cardi B.

The current news of their separation does not come as a surprise to the couple’s fans. This is not the first time that infidelity has been an issue in their relationship. They initially split in 2018 following the birth of their daughter Kulture, now 5. Offset admitted to cheating on Cardi then and offered her a public apology, which led to her forgiveness and the pair reuniting.

Despite the apparent discord in their personal lives, the couple had begun the year with high hopes. Earlier in 2023, Cardi B and Offset teamed up with fast-food giant McDonald’s to launch the first-ever celebrity duo meal just in time for Valentine’s Day. Their curated meals emphasized each of their individual preferences from the McDonald’s menu.

It is unfortunate to see things end like this for Cardi and Offset, considering that the launch of the Cardi B & Offset meal at McDonald’s symbolized a positive moment in their relationship. The couple did not have an ideal start, as earlier in 2023, Offset publicly accused Cardi of cheating on him in an Instagram message, which he later deleted. However, during an appearance on the Way Up With Angela Yee podcast, he admitted that he lied about the accusation and did it as a way to threaten Cardi during a fight.

The Cardi B and Offset split has captured the attention of fans and the media alike, given the ups and downs of their relationship over the years. While there is currently no official word from Offset, the details of the separation continue to unfold as fans and followers closely monitor the situation.
