Hollywood royalty Nicole Kidman was the toast of the town on Saturday night as she was honored at the 49th AFI Lifetime Achievement Award gala. The star-studded event took place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood and was attended by Kidman’s closest family members, including her husband Keith Urban and their two daughters Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret. Kidman’s sister, Antonia Kidman, was also in attendance, along with her daughter Sybella Hawley, who joined the family for photos on the red carpet.
In a rare red carpet appearance, Kidman and her family dazzled the cameras with their glamorous attire. Kidman sparkled in a custom Balenciaga gown, reminiscent of her Oscar statuette, while Urban looked sharp in a traditional black suit. The family posed for photos, capturing the love and support they share for each other.
During the event, Kidman spoke with ET’s Deidre Behar about her feelings on receiving the prestigious honor. “I’m a little nervous, to be honest,” Kidman admitted. “Instead of saying nervous, say you’re excited. So I’m excited! I’m just incredibly honored to be a part of this,” she added. Kidman expressed pride in being the first Australian to receive the award and spoke about the importance of having her family by her side for the special occasion.
“My girls are old enough now to be able to come and know what this is,” Kidman shared. “To be able to do this with my family around me gives it such balance… it’s very grounding.” Kidman mentioned that her mother was watching the live stream of the event and expressed gratitude for the support she receives from her loved ones.
Kidman’s career accomplishments were highlighted during the gala, where she was recognized for her contributions to the film industry and the arts. Her work, which has been praised by peers and scholars alike, was celebrated by colleagues such as Reese Witherspoon, Naomi Watts, and Morgan Freeman. The legendary Meryl Streep presented Kidman with the actual Lifetime Achievement Award, cementing her status as one of Hollywood’s most talented and respected actresses.
