Emily Blunt and Ryan Gosling are set to capture hearts on the big screen in their upcoming action rom-com, “The Fall Guy.”

Inspired by the 1980s television series of the same name, Gosling stars as Colt Seavers, a stuntman who finds himself working on a film directed by his ex-girlfriend, Jody Moreno. Things take a twist when the film’s A-list star, Tom Ryder, portrayed by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, goes missing, prompting Colt to take matters into his own hands to locate him and keep production on track, all while trying to win back Jody’s heart.

“The last thing she needs is this ex-boyfriend showing up,” Blunt shares in an exclusive look behind the scenes of the film. Directed by former stuntman David Leitch, the film promises to showcase both action-packed sequences and heartfelt romantic moments.

“Colt is willing to do anything he can to get her back,” Blunt adds. “Ultimately, the chemistry they have is going to override the desire to try to keep things ‘profesh.'”

“When people meet on set it’s called a ‘showmance’ — but what they have is much more than that,” Gosling agrees.

Blunt and Gosling, who previously went head-to-head in a blockbuster showdown during the “Barbenheimer” phenomenon last summer, are excited to step into their new roles in “The Fall Guy.” While Gosling’s character could easily pass as a Ken stunt double, Blunt’s portrayal of Jody presents a departure from her Oscar-nominated performance as Kitty Oppenheimer.

“She’s eccentric, and she’s as messy as the rest of us,” Blunt describes her character.

Despite the characters’ “complicated relationship,” Gosling offers a kinder perspective on Jody, calling her “smart, talented, maybe a touch sadistic — but she makes it fun.”

Throughout the filming process, the duo encountered some bumps and bruises, as Leitch insisted on Gosling performing some of his stunts for authenticity.

“The whole opening sequence leads up to them dropping me 12 stories off of a building, and then I got dragged across the Sydney Harbor Bridge,” Gosling recalls with a wince.

Blunt and Gosling have also been making the most of their “Fall Guy” press tour, bringing their “Barbenheimer” feud back to life at the Oscars and even taking the “Saturday Night Live” stage for a musical duet about their characters, set to Taylor Swift’s hit ballad “All Too Well.”

Swift herself expressed her excitement over the performance, taking to her Instagram Story to share her appreciation for the tribute.

“The Fall Guy” is set to hit theaters on May 3, promising a rollercoaster of action, romance, and comedic moments that are sure to entertain audiences worldwide.
