In 2025, the redesigned Hyundai i20 N was spotted on camera and will be released in Australia later this year.

The Hyundai i20 N is not dead for Australia just yet, as a small facelift is expected to hit local showrooms later this year. The latest 2025 Hyundai i20 N facelift has been spotted in Europe, in right-hand drive configuration, and is confirmed to be on its way to Australia in the final months of this year, pending any delays.

While the Hyundai i20 N has been discontinued in Europe due to a shift towards electric cars, it will continue to be available in Australia for the foreseeable future. The facelift will bring minor styling changes, including redesigned 18-inch machined alloy wheels and a new grille pattern.

The prototype seen in recent photos is likely aimed at the Australian or New Zealand market, as these are among the few right-hand drive markets still selling the i20 N. Hyundai Australia has confirmed that the facelifted i20 N will arrive in local showrooms in the fourth quarter of 2024.

Executives have stated that there will be no changes to the mechanical package of the i20 N for the facelift, retaining the 150 kW/275 Nm 1.6-litre turbo four-cylinder engine, six-speed manual transmission, and front-wheel drive. With Europe moving towards all-electric N performance cars, Australia is expected to become the primary market for the i20 N.

As demand for the i20 N remains high and the competition is minimal, there is little incentive to make major changes to the model. However, with the next-generation petrol-engined i20 expected in 2026, it is uncertain if there will be another iteration of the i20 N in the future.
