Tech giant Apple has reportedly instructed Foxconn, the iPhone assembly factory, to commence mass production of the highly anticipated iPhone 15.

In a bid to meet the scheduled launch of the iPhone 15, Foxconn has opted to bolster its workforce by increasing the number of factory employees and enhancing bonuses for current workers.

According to Gizchina, starting from May 29, new employees will receive significantly higher bonuses compared to the previous amount of USD 425 per person.

Official data from Zhengzhou indicates that the maximum bonus for new employees will be approximately USD 500 or around IDR 7.5 million per person.

Additionally, Foxconn has raised the hourly wage for its workers to 2 yuan (approximately USD 0.31) per hour.

The announcement from Foxconn serves as an indication that the iPhone 15 is likely to adhere to its predicted release date in September 2023.

Apple plans to introduce four successor models to the iPhone 14, including the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Leaks suggest that all iPhone 15 models will feature Dynamic Island, USB-C connectors, and the powerful Apple A17 processor.

However, it is worth noting that only the iPhone 15 Pro Max model will see an enhancement in its photography capabilities, boasting a 6x zoom periscope camera.

Potential Delay in iPhone 15 Launch Due to Limited Stock of 48MP Cameras

On the other hand, Apple’s scheduled launch of the iPhone 15 series in September 2023 may face delays from its usual timeline.

This delay can be attributed to issues concerning the availability and stock of the primary 48MP camera sensor for the iPhone 15. It has been revealed that Apple plans to incorporate this lens, derived from the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, into the standard version of the iPhone 15.

Analyst Jeff Pu, as cited by Gizchina on Tuesday (May 16, 2023), expressed concerns about the challenges Apple may encounter in sourcing specific camera components, potentially resulting in a postponed phone launch.

Pu also conveyed less optimism regarding the release of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, stating, “Apple may face challenges in supplying the 48MP sensor according to the schedule.”

The iPhone 15 Ultra

It is anticipated that both models of the iPhone 15 will be launched simultaneously with the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max in September 2023.

According to information circulating on the internet, the iPhone 15 series will showcase significant improvements in its camera components compared to the iPhone 14.

Notably, the iPhone 15 Ultra model stands out as a prominent example. This series is rumored to feature a periscope telephoto lens with an impressive optical zoom capability of up to 10x.

Reportedly, all iPhone 15 models might incorporate periscope zoom functionality, effectively doubling the zoom capability. Additionally, Apple will equip this phone with a new Sony sensor.

The introduction of this new Sony sensor aims to enhance the camera lens’s ability to capture more light in low-light conditions, effectively addressing a common concern found in the current iPhone lineup.
