Jill Biden expresses concern about how Republicans are treating Hunter, saying “What they are doing… is cruel”

Title: Jill Biden Defends Son Hunter, Slams Republican Attacks, and Defends Husband Joe’s Age in New Interview

The First Lady of the United States, Jill Biden, recently defended her son Hunter Biden and went on to slam Republicans for their attacks on her family. During the same interview, she also defended her husband, Joe Biden’s age, amidst growing concerns from the public that he may be too old to be president.

In the interview with MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski, Jill Biden accused Republicans of being “cruel” to her son Hunter amidst ongoing attacks from the GOP. This comes after House Republicans voted to advance a contempt of Congress resolution against Hunter, signaling the potential for criminal charges against him.

“I think what they are doing to Hunter is cruel,” Jill said. “And I’m really proud of how Hunter has rebuilt his life after addiction. You know, I love my son and it’s had — it’s hurt my grandchildren. And that’s what I’m so concerned about, that it’s affecting their lives as well.”

In defending Hunter, Jill did not hold back on criticizing the Republican’s attacks on the Biden family and the rhetoric that has been used against them. “I mean, to look at it, what we used to have, and what the other side, the extremists have turned this country into,” Jill said. “I mean, we would never see things like that say 10 years ago.”

However, in doing so, Jill conveniently ignored the way Democrats have treated the Trump family in recent years, taking a critical stance on the way her family has been targeted by Republicans.

Despite growing concerns about Joe Biden’s age and health, Jill defended her husband, saying: “I see his vigor, I see his energy, I see his passion every single day. He has wisdom, he has experience. He can do it. His age is an asset.”

However, Joe Biden’s low approval ratings and the public’s fears over his age do not align with Jill’s defense of her husband. According to a Wall Street Journal poll from last August, 73 percent of registered voters considered Joe to be “too old to run for president.” Additionally, Joe ended 2023 with an extremely low 39% approval rating.

While Jill remains fiercely supportive of her husband’s ability to govern, the public’s doubts about Joe’s capability as president still linger. Despite her unwavering support, the reality is that Joe is facing challenges from both Republicans and voters in the upcoming election.

In conclusion, Jill Biden’s interview shed light on her defense of her family amidst ongoing attacks from Republicans and her unwavering support of her husband, Joe Biden in the face of growing concerns about his age and fitness for the presidency.
