Kamala Harris acknowledges feeling very afraid of Trump

Vice President Kamala Harris Admits She’s ‘Scared as Heck’ of Donald Trump’s Return

As the race for the 2024 presidential election heats up, Vice President Kamala Harris confessed on “The View” that she is “scared as heck” of Donald Trump potentially returning to the White House. Her admission came during a wide-ranging interview with the liberal co-host Joy Behar in which they discussed a wide range of election-related topics. During the conversation, Harris also talked about the importance of being out and connecting with constituents.

The Interview

Behar delved into the state of the Joe Biden presidential campaign, quoting various figures who expressed concerns about complacency in losing to Trump and breaking through the “MAGA wall.” This led Behar to ask Harris about her own feelings of fear regarding the prospect of another Trump presidency.

“Are you scared?” Behar asked. “What could happen if Trump ever became, God forbid, president again? And what are you going to do to stop the crazies?”

“I am scared as heck!” Harris responded without hesitation. “Which is why I’m traveling our country. You know, there’s an old saying that there are only two ways to run for office: Either without an opponent or scared. So on all of those points, yes, we should all be scared.”

Harris went on to emphasize the importance of fighting back against fear, especially in the face of threats to the future of our children. “We cannot stay in bed with the covers over our head,” she said, concluding that President Biden, herself, and the administration had to “earn re-election” and that they had to communicate their achievements as part of that effort.

Harris’s Unpopularity

Against this backdrop, a recent poll conducted by the polling website 538 reflected a decline in Harris’s approval rating from 41.7 percent to 36.3 percent last year. Her disapproval rating also rose from 51.7 percent to 53.7 percent during the same time period. These figures suggest that Harris may have valid reasons for feeling scared.

Thomas Gift, head of the Center on U.S. Politics at University College London, pointed out that Harris’s unpopularity may well be a significant factor in the upcoming presidential election. “Harris’ abysmal popularity will matter on the margins,” he said, acknowledging historically low favorabilities for someone in her position.

The controversy or rather the outrage surrounding Harris’s fear mongering will no doubt continue as the 2024 presidential election draws nearer. This is not the first time she has made headlines for controversial statements, nor will it be the last. Her remarks have drawn criticism from conservative pundits and support from liberal advocates which has only served to deepen the political polarization that continues to define the American landscape.

This controversy will not fade away anytime soon, and it remains to be seen how it will impact the already tense 2024 presidential campaign. Now is the time to support and share the sources you trust.
