Kody Brown Admits to Only Falling in Love With Robyn, Not His Other Wives in ‘Sister Wives’ Recap

In a candid interview for the show Sister Wives One-on-One special, Kody Brown openly admitted to a difference in his relationship with his fourth wife, Robyn Brown, as compared to his marriages with his other three wives. Kody claimed that he was never truly in love with his other wives, Meri, Janelle, and Christine, before he met and married Robyn in 2010.

In the interview, Kody, 54, confessed that he fell in love with Robyn in a way that he had never experienced before. He described feeling a sense of safety and vulnerability that brought him to tears of joy for months after meeting Robyn.

Robyn, however, stated that she was not aware of the unequal feelings that Kody had for her and the other wives until recently. She expressed that she did her best to not make the situation painful for the other wives, constantly suppressing and hiding her relationship with Kody.

Kody’s first wife, Meri, acknowledged the deep connection between Kody and Robyn, stating that she is happy for the couple but expressing her wishes that it did not come at the expense of the rest of the family.

While Kody did not explicitly admit to wrongdoing, he recognized that he had not been in love with his other wives from the beginning, causing a rift in the family dynamic. Additionally, there was also contention surrounding the close friendship between Janelle and Christine following their respective splits from Kody. Christine accused Kody of being jealous of her friendship with Janelle, with Kody agreeing that the polygamist lifestyle is institutionally unfair especially when considering the one-on-one perspective.

The interview also teased the forthcoming episodes of Sister Wives, which will feature the televised debut of Christine’s new husband, David Woolley. Additionally, the promo montage for future episodes showed Kody making controversial remarks about Christine, implying that she was not a good sister wife but might become a good wife to David.

The show revealed that Christine announced her split from Kody in 2021 and married David in October 2023. Janelle had separated from Kody in 2022, and in the season finale, Meri informed Kody and Robyn that she was leaving him, leaving Robyn as Kody’s sole remaining wife.

The One-on-One special of Sister Wives will continue to air in the coming weeks on TLC, delving into the complex relationships and hardships faced by the entire polygamist family. This deeply personal insight into the Browns’ lives has drawn intense interest from fans, and viewers can expect to unravel more drama and emotional revelations in the episodes to come.
