Leaked Specifications of Playstation 6, Uses AMD Engine

Sony is reportedly going to use an AMD engine for the Playstation 6 video game console. Check out the leak.

Playstation 5 is three years old and its successor, Playstation 6, might only be launched a few years from now. However, rumors about this console have already begun circulating, one of which pertains to the engine being used.

The latest rumor about this gaming console comes from YouTuber Moore’s Law Is Dead, who previously leaked details about Sony’s long-rumored PS5 Pro with upgraded internals.

In a recent video, Moore’s Law is Dead claims to know with “100 percent” certainty that Sony will continue its partnership with AMD to support the PS6 and PS5 Pro. The chip will prioritize specifications such as 4K at 120fps and 8K at 60fps.

To bolster this rumor, YouTuber RedGamingTech claims that Sony didn’t even consider other vendors besides AMD to support the next-generation console.

According to Toms Guide, both PS4 and PS5 use AMD Jaguar and Zen 2 respectively.

Before the release of the PS5 in 2020, RedGaming Tech stated that Sony discussed switching to another chip vendor, namely Nvidia. However, the company ultimately decided to stick with AMD due to several reasons, including compatibility ease and a dedicated solutions team.

Nevertheless, this rumor cannot be fully trusted until there is an official confirmation from the PlayStation team.

Apart from this rumor, not much is known about the specifications and launch time of the PS6, but one clue regarding this console is found in a court document published in the FTC case against Microsoft regarding its efforts to acquire Activision Blizzard.
