Marcelo Majeed stole hundreds of thousands of dollars in jewelry

Marcelo Majeed Hernandez, an 18-year-old with military training, was recently arrested in Houston, Texas for stealing over $500,000 worth of jewelry from various luxury stores. Described as a “serial thief” by authorities, Majeed managed to steal watches, rings, earrings, bracelets, and gold necklaces.

After seven months of investigation, law enforcement officials in the northeast Houston metropolitan area were able to apprehend Majeed. It was revealed in the arrest warrant that he had received military training in the United States Marine Corps.

The USMC issued a statement acknowledging the allegations against the young Hispanic man. The Office of the Constable of Precinct Four in Harris County investigated Majeed’s crimes in Texas.

The arrest was made possible after employees at David Yurman Jewelry reported a robbery totaling $380,000. Majeed was also involved in a second robbery at Helzberg Diamond, where he stole $170,000 worth of merchandise.

Majeed was eventually caught by police while driving a black Mercedes Benz, where authorities found stolen jewelry, cash, weapons, cell phones, and a device used for breaking glass. He is currently being held in Harris County Jail and faces potential dishonorable discharge from the USMC.

Investigations are ongoing to determine if Majeed is responsible for other robberies in different cities across the United States. The case is set to be heard by Judge Robert Johnson in the 177th District Criminal Court in Harris County.
