Mason Mount has completed a move to Manchester United from Chelsea for a contract value of £60 million.

Mason Mount has completed a move to Manchester United from Chelsea for a contract value of £60 million. Since joining the club, he has been involved in matches against Leeds, Lyon, Arsenal, and Real Madrid.

The arrival of the 24-year-old player surprised one of his teammates despite being relatively new to Manchester United. Alvaro Fernandez, the young defender, expressed his surprise.

“Mason surprised me because he wasn’t a standout player when watching matches,” he said to Spanish media AS. “But in training, you can see the quality, technique, and ability he possesses. He’s really good. The coach has changed the team. New recruits have arrived, and the squad now has a new life,” he added.

“Mason is a great player, and on the field, he has an extraordinary character. Then there’s Lisandro Martinez, who arrived last summer and has a level of aggression that seems crazy,” Fernandez said.

“It’s never easy to leave the club where you grew up, but Manchester United will provide an exciting new challenge for the next phase of my career,” Mount said after joining MU.

“After competing against them, I know how strong the squad I’m joining is, and I can’t wait to be part of this group’s effort to win major trophies.”

“Everyone can see that the club has taken big steps forward under Erik ten Hag. After meeting with the manager and discussing his plans, I am very excited for next season and ready for the hard work expected here,” he added.

“I am very ambitious. I know how amazing it feels to win big trophies and what it takes to do it. I will give everything to experience it again at Manchester United.”

Manchester United will be back in action on Monday as they face German Bundesliga team Borussia Dortmund at Allegiant Stadium in Nevada.

Previously, Manchester United fans believed that manager Erik ten Hag already knows how to use Mount next season. The Dutch coach will place his new player in the right role.

Last week, Mount signed a five-year contract with Manchester United for an initial price of £55 million. The deal reportedly includes a potential additional £5 million, highly dependent on appearances and success.

“After meeting with the manager and discussing his plans, I am very excited for next season,” said the English international player.

Wrexham goalkeeper, Ben Foster, warns Andre Onana to play it safe and not do any fancy stuff while defending for Manchester United, especially in the Premier League.

MU has just ended an era at Old Trafford as they are no longer represented by David De Gea.

The Spanish goalkeeper left Old Trafford in the summer of 2023. MU actually wanted to keep De Gea.

But negotiations did not reach a resolution. United then brought in Andre Onana as a replacement for De Gea.

Andre Onana, who was bought from Inter Milan, is known as a modern goalkeeper. He can control the ball well. That’s why Erik Ten Hag brought him to Manchester United.

Sometimes he also acts boldly by tricking opponents. Ben Foster then warns the Cameroonian goalkeeper not to be too flashy, especially when playing in the Premier League.

“Onana is a very confident player. I’ve seen him do the [Cruyff turn] and stuff like that,” he said on The United Stand.

“But it only takes once or twice for him to get caught. Then it makes you start thinking maybe you shouldn’t do that,” he added.

“Hopefully, he’ll be successful, but sometimes it’s not that easy,” Foster emphasized.

Ben Foster then praised David De Gea. He said De Gea still deserves to play for Manchester United because his overall performance is still good.

“David has done a really good job because there’s so much pressure and expectation when you play as a goalkeeper for United. It’s a very difficult job,” he emphasized.

“If you can guarantee [performance] 6/10 or 7/10 every week like David did, it’s very valuable,” Foster claimed.

Previously, the defense of David De Gea was also expressed by Liverpool legend, Graeme Souness. He doubted Manchester United’s new goalkeeper, Andre Onana, would be better than De Gea.

“In terms of pure goalkeeping, using the hands, let’s wait and see if Onana is better than De Gea. I’m not so sure myself,” he said on Sky Sports.

“In his first four or five seasons at Manchester United, David De Gea won the Player of the Year award.”

Andre Onana is a player who will make the coaches do somersaults when he takes the ball. He’s too relaxed when there’s an opponent approaching and pressing,” he criticized.
