Mexican Man’s Body Rescued from Baltimore Bridge: Identity Revealed

Authorities in the United States reported on Monday that they rescued the remains of a victim from the collapse of the Baltimore Bridge, where six Latin American migrant workers died. It is important to remember that a huge container ship caused the deadly collapse of the Baltimore Bridge by crashing into it and causing a tragedy.

The ship, named Dali, departed from the port of Baltimore early on March 26 loaded with cargo bound for Sri Lanka. The rescue operation began after a Unified Command alert, which notified Maryland Police and the FBI upon finding the vehicle involved in the collapse, where construction workers were located.

According to the investigations, the ship lost power before reaching open waters and hit one of the supports of the Francis Scott Key Bridge. This caused the section to collapse into the Patapsco River, leading to the deaths of six members of a road repair team who plummeted to their death.

Authorities have since revealed that they have recovered the body of the third Mexican killed in the tragic Baltimore accident. The deceased was identified as Carlos Daniel Hernández, the third Mexican involved in the accident.

In a statement released by the rescue command, at the family’s request, the identity of the victim was kept private. This has brought the total number of bodies recovered to four since the incident on March 27.

The tragic event, which occurred on March 26, revealed that three of the victims were Mexican migrant workers with family ties, according to interviews by NBC News with relatives. The tragedy in the Baltimore Bridge has caused shock both in the United States and in Mexico, drawing attention to workplace safety and migrant rights protection.

The ship, Dali, is managed by Synergy Marine Group and owned by Grace Ocean Private Ltd., both from Singapore. The Danish shipping giant Maersk had leased the Dali. Synergy and Grace Ocean filed a joint petition shortly after the collapse seeking to limit their legal liability, a routine procedure for cases litigated under US maritime law.

Their joint filing seeks to limit the companies’ liability to approximately 43.6 million dollars, according to The Associated Press. It is estimated that the ship itself is valued at up to 90 million dollars and was owed more than 1.1 million dollars in freight revenue. As authorities continue with the rescue efforts, measures are expected to be taken to prevent future incidents of this nature.
