Mobile Activation Made Easy: Step-by-Step Guide

Google Maps continues to make improvements to enhance user experience across various devices. The latest update introduces the ability to activate 3D navigation from your mobile on Android Auto.

Android Auto, a crucial app for drivers, has received an update that allows users to activate Google Maps 3D navigation just before starting the vehicle engine. This new feature synchronizes a setting on the mobile device with the Android Auto app, ensuring a seamless experience for drivers.

While Google Maps has offered 3D buildings for some time, the addition of 3D navigation earlier this year has significantly enhanced the driving experience. The new update now allows the option to display buildings in three dimensions to sync across all devices linked to a Google account.

The process to activate 3D navigation from your mobile is straightforward. Users can access the setting by clicking on the profile button in Google Maps, navigating to Navigation Settings, and enabling the “Show 3D buildings” option in the map display section. This feature provides a more comfortable and consistent experience, similar to the iOS version of Maps where 3D buildings will not be displayed in CarPlay if disabled in the app.

One key point to remember is that the setting must be adjusted before connecting the mobile phone to the vehicle for it to apply in Android Auto. This update is currently in the beta phase and is expected to roll out to the final version in the coming weeks, offering users greater convenience and improving the overall quality of life while driving.
