New Media Ventures is investing in Nuestro Stories to expand its platform for Latino heritage content.

New Media Ventures (NMV), a leading civic impact investment fund, has added Nuestro Stories to its portfolio of media companies, making an investment in the Latino heritage content platform that aims to expand its reach nationwide by 2023.

NMV invests in companies that are not only focused on profitability but also on societal impact. With the new partnership, Nuestro Stories aims to bring more stories of the Latino community to light through its dynamic platforms. This includes content, adtech, influencer marketing, and its newest venture, Nuestro Studios.

“We’re excited about this investment in Nuestro Stories because they are fast-growing and very creative with dynamic platforms spanning content, adtech, influencer marketing, and their new Nuestro Studios,” said Jessica Salinas, NMV’s Chief Investment Officer, in a press release.

Founded by Angela Sustaita-Ruiz and Manny Ruiz, Nuestro Stories aims to create accurate and engaging content about Latinos by highlighting their stories and origins. The couple previously created and sold firms focused on the Latino community, including Hispanicize, DiMe Media, Hispanic Kitchen, Latina Moms, Hispanic PR Wire, Hispanic Digital Network, and LatinClips.

“We’re beyond honored to join the New Media Ventures family because they are a gold standard investor and are committed to our vision of telling accurate stories about Latinos,” said Angela Sustaita-Ruiz, president at Nuestro Stories.

NMV has been supporting early-stage companies for 12 years and has mobilized more than $60 million in funding. The organization invests in promising leaders, media power-building technologies, and civic engagement activities to bring about positive societal changes.

NMV considers its investments in Blavity, Crowd Tangle, and Eko as some of its most successful so far. With Nuestro Stories, NMV hopes to invest in more impact-driven ventures that will bring about positive change.

Nuestro Stories produces daily videos, stories, and social media content that focus on Latino heritage. Through its Nuestros Studios, the platform also creates and co-produces original and branded films, documentaries, series, and podcasts.

“This investment is empowering stories to be told and studio platforms to be born that will open new doors for content creators spanning social, web, podcasts, and now through Nuestro Studios, films, series, and documentaries,” said Sustaita-Ruiz.

With the new partnership, Nuestro Stories plans to expand its reach nationwide by 2023, bringing more Latino heritage stories to a wider audience. NMV’s investment will support the platform’s efforts to further grow and diversify content creation while creating more opportunities for content creators.

This partnership comes at a time when media representation is more important than ever. Nuestro Stories aims to fill the void of authentic Latino stories in mainstream media. Through NMV’s investment, Nuestro Stories will be able to reach more Latino audiences and bring their stories to a wider audience.
