This plea comes after RFK announced Shanahan as his running mate last month as he pushes forward with an Independent bid for the White House.
The letter from Khanna to Shanahan, which CBS News obtained, warns that supporting Kennedy could potentially aid Trump’s return to the White House and have negative environmental consequences. Khanna points out that even members of Trump’s team themselves have acknowledged that a RFK Jr. ticket would benefit Trump’s reelection efforts.
Despite pressure from Democrats and even his own family, Kennedy has remained steadfast in his decision to continue his campaign. However, Khanna’s letter to Shanahan seems to be an attempt to stifle Kennedy’s significant campaign and prevent him from gaining momentum.
