Ryan Seacrest Teases About Competing on ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Following ‘American Idol’ Performance (Exclusive)

Ryan Seacrest Teases Potential Future TV Competition Gig

Ryan Seacrest, the iconic host of American Idol, may have yet another TV competition gig in his future. After Monday’s episode of American Idol, which saw the Top 7 contestants narrowed down to the Top 5, Seacrest walked the red carpet and discussed a video he posted showcasing his dance moves.

“I think America’s been waiting for some moves,” Seacrest commented on his dance video, which he shared on Twitter ahead of Sunday’s show with the theme “Songs That Make You Wanna Dance.”

“I mean, I’ve had them bottled up,” Seacrest admitted, adding, “It was time to break out the hips and show they can move a little bit.”

Despite his confident display in the video, Seacrest revealed that he was actually “terrified” to dance on camera and practiced for an hour beforehand. When asked if he would consider competing on Dancing With the Stars, Seacrest replied, “I don’t know! Never say never after that, right?”

However, with the upcoming season of DWTS scheduled to begin in September, around the same time Seacrest is set to take over as host of Wheel of Fortune from Pat Sajak, it seems unlikely that Seacrest will be joining the dance competition anytime soon.

This season of American Idol featured contestants performing under the theme “Songs That Make You Wanna Dance,” coached by Ciara, followed by tributes to Adele on her birthday. Fan favorites Abi Carter, Triston Harper, Jack Blocker, Will Moseley, and Emmy Russell are the remaining Top 5 contestants after Julia Gagnon and Mckenna Faith Breinholt were eliminated on Sunday.

Seacrest praised Adele, saying she has recorded some of the greatest songs of all time and is an incredible artist. American Idol airs on Sundays and Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC, with episodes available for streaming the next day on Hulu.

As Ryan Seacrest continues to entertain audiences on American Idol and prepares to take on the role of Wheel of Fortune host, the future looks bright for the veteran TV personality. Will he eventually make a cameo on Dancing With the Stars? Only time will tell.
