Travis Kelce Gets Emotional Over Tom Brady’s Roast, Says He Was ‘In Tears’

Travis Kelce Praises Tom Brady and Netflix’s Roast Event

Travis Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, recently expressed his admiration for Tom Brady and the team behind Netflix’s “The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady.” On a recent episode of his “New Heights” podcast presented by Wave Sports + Entertainment, Travis and his brother Jason Kelce discussed their thoughts on the roast event and whether they would ever be open to receiving the roast treatment themselves.

During the podcast, Travis shared his excitement about the event, stating that he had been in tears watching clips of the roast online. He commended the participants for not getting their feelings hurt and praised Brady and his NFL cohorts for being good sports about the jokes they were subjected to during the event.

Although Travis was not in attendance at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles where the roast took place, he still found himself at the receiving end of some jabs. Brady’s jokes about Kansas City fans and Travis’ relationship with Taylor Swift were met with laughter from the audience.

Jason also weighed in on the roast, calling it “pure entertainment” but admitting that he didn’t fully understand the appeal of roasts. He joked about only participating in a roast if he could choose the roasters, preferably family members whom he could also get into a fistfight with afterward.

Despite the potential for hurt feelings, Travis revealed that he would be open to being roasted by some of his favorite comedians, including Andrew Santino, Dave Chappelle, Nikki Glaser, Jeff Ross, and Kevin Hart, who hosted Brady’s event. Travis expressed his desire for Kevin Hart to “rip [him] in half” with his jokes.

While the event provided plenty of entertainment for fans, not everyone was pleased with the jokes. Brady’s ex-wife, Gisele Bündchen, reportedly felt hurt and upset by some of the jokes made about her and her relationship during the roast. Meanwhile, Kevin Hart jokingly expressed his expectation of losing his friendship with Brady after delivering his set at the event.

Despite the potential for strained relationships, Hart emphasized the importance of pushing boundaries with humor and creating a space for both the participants and the audience to have a good time. He acknowledged that roasting can get “a little ugly” but emphasized that it should ultimately be done in a tasteful manner to ensure everyone has fun.

In the midst of the jokes and banter, it’s clear that events like Netflix’s roast of Tom Brady provide a platform for athletes and entertainers to show a different side of themselves and engage with their peers and fans in a lighthearted manner. Whether it’s poking fun at each other or showcasing their comedic chops, these events offer a unique opportunity for the sports and entertainment worlds to collide in a fun and entertaining way.
