50 Cent Breaks His Silence Following Accusations of Rape and Physical Abuse by Ex Daphne Joy

After facing serious allegations of rape and abuse from his ex-partner Daphne Joy amidst their custody battle over their son, Sire, 50 Cent has finally addressed the situation.

In a statement provided to Us Weekly on Thursday, March 28, the 48-year-old rapper, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, expressed his commitment to protecting his son: “The disturbing allegations made by Daphne Joy in the recent court filings have compelled me to take all necessary legal actions to ensure the safety of my son, Sire. The latest accusations from Daphne Joy are unfounded and clearly a response to my decision to pursue sole custody of my son. My sole focus right now is to keep Sire in a safe environment.”

50 Cent’s response comes shortly after Joy, 37, took to Instagram to accuse him of abuse: “Curtis James Jackson. Everything is a joke to you until our safety is compromised, which is happening now. You are wreaking real havoc, frenzy, and chaos onto people’s lives,” Joy wrote. “How would you feel if Sire was the one in handcuffs? For nothing.”

The former couple, who dated from 2011 to 2012, shares a 12-year-old son, Sire. Joy further expressed her grievances, stating, “We moved to New York to give you the opportunity to be a father to your son and you saw him 10 times out of the two years that we lived one mile away from you. I am tired of upholding and protecting an image to our son that you have never earned.”

She continued, accusing 50 Cent of rape and physical abuse: “Let’s put the real focus on your true evil actions of raping me and physically abusing me. You are no longer my oppressor and my God will handle you from this point on.”

Joy’s statement comes on the heels of reports that 50 Cent is seeking sole custody of Sire, following Joy’s alleged involvement in a sex trafficking lawsuit against Sean “Diddy” Combs. Joy was named in a lawsuit filed by music producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, accusing Diddy of sexual misconduct, with Joy allegedly being cited as a sex worker employed by Diddy. Both Joy and Diddy have denied the allegations.

In response to the lawsuit, Joy took to Instagram to refute the claims: “I am deeply hurt by the lies in Rodney Jones’ lawsuit. The claim that I am a sex worker is 100% false and character assassination. I am retaining an attorney to explore all legal remedies against both Rodney and his attorney.”
