William H. Macy Steps Into the ‘Planet of the Apes’ Franchise as Wife Felicity Huffman Returns to TV
William H. Macy has been experiencing a lot of success and excitement recently. From his own entry into the blockbuster Planet of the Apes franchise to his wife, Felicity Huffman’s, return to television, the couple has plenty of reasons to celebrate.
Macy recently walked the red carpet at the world premiere of “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. However, it was his wife’s new role that had him beaming with pride when he spoke with ET’s Ash Crossan.
“It was great! I went to visit her on the set a couple of times… and she had a great time,” Macy shared about Huffman’s experience working on the second season of Criminal Minds: Evolution. “I think she did a great job, too. I’m really glad she’s working.”
Macy and Huffman have always bonded over their shared love of acting, often giving each other notes on their respective scripts. The couple’s daughters, 23-year-old Sophia Grace and 22-year-old Georgia Grace, have also been exposed to the world of acting from a young age.
As fans eagerly anticipate Huffman’s return to primetime television, Macy is gearing up for his own debut in the Planet of the Apes franchise with “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes.” The actor expressed his pride in being a part of such a renowned series.
“I saw the Roddy McDowall version, I saw the first one in the [theaters] when I was young,” Macy reminisced about the 1968 original film. “To be a part of it is really flattering and gratifying.”
In “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes,” Macy joins a talented cast that includes Owen Teague, Freya Allan, Kevin Durand, and Peter Macon, under the direction of Wes Ball. The film is the fourth installment in the modern rebooted Planet of the Apes franchise, set 300 years after the events of the previous film, “War for the Planet of the Apes.”
“Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” is set to hit theaters on May 10, giving fans the chance to see Macy in action in a new and thrilling role.
