Kim Kardashian and Khloé Kardashian have responded to Kanye West’s “gravely irresponsible” antisemitic comments following public backlash.

In a recent episode of “The Kardashians,” which aired on Thursday, July 6th, Kim (42) discussed her ex-husband’s derogatory statements about the Jewish community and shared her reaction with Khloé (39).

Expressing sympathy for Kanye, Kim said, “I feel so bad for him. I don’t even think he feels bad for himself. I don’t even know if he knows how. I just feel so bad.” The conversation, filmed in October 2022, delved into Kim’s concerns about her own role in the situation. She questioned whether her public support for the Jewish community led to people “dropping” Kanye, and whether she should have remained silent instead of speaking out.

In October 2022, Kanye West sparked controversy when he posted tweets referring to “going death con 3 [sic] On JEWISH PEOPLE.” He later added, “The funny thing is I actually can’t be Anti Semitic because black people are actually Jew also. You guys have toyed with me and tried to blackball anyone who ever opposes your agenda.”

Responding swiftly, Kim took to Twitter to condemn hate speech and show solidarity with the Jewish community. She tweeted in October 2022, “Hate speech is never OK or excusable. I stand together with the Jewish community and call for the terrible violence and hateful rhetoric towards them to come to an immediate end.”

Following the backlash, Kanye’s social media accounts were temporarily restricted, and he faced being dropped by multiple brands.

In the episode, Kim expressed her internal conflict about speaking out against Kanye, given their shared history and the fact that he is the father of her children. Khloé offered support and reminded Kim not to let Kanye’s actions affect her.

Drawing from her own experiences, Khloé stated, “Kim, every single day I feel bad about [my ex-husband] Lamar [Odom]. Every single day. I feel bad about Tristan [Thompson] not being on a team right now. Lamar is forever going to be remembered as a drug user.” She emphasized that feeling empathy for Kanye does not mean disregarding the negative impact of his actions.

Previously, Khloé had confronted Kanye on social media when he made derogatory remarks about her family. In October 2022, Kanye mentioned Kim’s loved ones while defending his Yeezy season 9 show, proclaiming “White Lives Matter” on a T-shirt.

In response, Khloé defended her family and urged Kanye to refrain from involving them in his disputes. She expressed her love for him and suggested continuing the conversation privately.
