Starting Price of the 2024 Cadillac Celestiq Estimated to be Approximately $340,000

Cadillac Announces $340k Starting Price for the Celestiq, a Highly Customizable Luxury Electric Vehicle

Cadillac, known for its luxurious vehicles, made a surprising announcement this week regarding the price of its upcoming electric vehicle, the Celestiq. Rumored to be in the same price range as Rolls-Royce, many were skeptical. However, Cadillac global chief marketing officer, Melissa Grady Dias, confirmed the rumors in a LinkedIn post, stating that the Celestiq will indeed have a starting price of $340,000. Additionally, she mentioned that each car will be highly customizable, giving customers the opportunity to personalize their Celestiq to reflect their personality and preferences.

Dias stated, “Since its introduction, we’ve seen extremely high demand for Celestiq. Clients who begin this bespoke journey can personalize their Celestiq and make it a true reflection of their personality—the possibilities are endless. The bespoke spirit of Celestiq will be determined by the client’s level of curation, but the blank canvas will start at approximately $340,000 MSRP.”

Customers looking to purchase a Celestiq will be guided through the buying process by a Celestiq-certified dealer of their choice. They will have the opportunity to build and customize their vehicle to their exact specifications. While it remains uncertain how deep the customization options will go, Cadillac aims to rival brands like Rolls-Royce and Bentley, known for their extensive customization capabilities, even willing to use a tree from a customer’s backyard for trim if desired.

Although the Celestiq has yet to be released and its driving experience cannot be evaluated, it appears promising on paper. The vehicle boasts an impressive 111-kilowatt-hour battery, providing a claimed range of 300 miles. This range outperforms the new Rolls-Royce Spectre, which features a 102-kilowatt-hour battery and an estimated range of 260 miles according to the EPA. The Celestiq also delivers a remarkable 680 horsepower, enabling it to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds. In comparison, the Spectre offers 577 horsepower and a 0-60 mph time of 4.4 seconds.

In terms of production, the Cadillac Celestiq will be hand-built at General Motors’ Technical Center in Warren, Michigan. A photograph accompanying Dias’ post showcased some potential paint, interior, and trim options that Cadillac may offer for the vehicle. These options displayed a funky and interesting aesthetic, sparking excitement among potential buyers. Furthermore, it will be intriguing to see a “Hand Built in Michigan” plaque adorning the door sill of a $340,000 electric luxury car.

With the Celestiq’s sky-high price tag and the promise of extensive customization, Cadillac is making a bold move into the ultra-luxury EV market. The company is banking on the appeal of a highly personalized, hand-built electric vehicle to attract discerning customers who seek exclusivity and individuality in their luxury cars. The success of the Celestiq will ultimately depend on whether it can deliver a driving experience and level of luxury that meet the expectations of buyers in this price range.
