Aston Martin Unveils Stunning New Vantage Model
2023 Vantage Model Receives Significant Upgrades and Enhancements.
Last year, Aston Martin launched the DB12, a high-performance grand tourer. The DB12’s stunning appearance and new interior were a significant improvement over the previous DB11. Now, the British brand is following up with a similar upgrade to its smallest sportiest car, the Vantage.
The new 2023 Aston Martin Vantage presents a similar silhouette to the previous generation, with only minimal changes to the rear. However, from the A-pillar onward, the new Vantage showcases dramatic improvements and a much more attractive design. Its hood and grille resemble those of the DB12, and its headlights are now thicker and taller, creating a more cohesive and visually appealing front end.
Additionally, Aston Martin has made significant improvements to the interior. The last-generation Vantage suffered from messy ergonomics, dated technology, and an odd steering wheel shape. The new Vantage, however, features a clean center console layout, a modern touchscreen infotainment system, legible gauges, and a round steering wheel, creating a much more appealing interior space. The similarities to the DB12’s interior may bother some owners, but overall, it represents a significant upgrade for Vantage owners.
Under the hood, the new Vantage features AMG’s familiar 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, which has been enhanced with new camshafts, optimized compression ratios, an improved cooling system, and larger turbos. These upgrades result in a maximum power output of 665 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque, marking an improvement of 155 horsepower and 84 pound-feet over the previous model. The V8 engine is paired with a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission and retains its rear-wheel-drive configuration, but with a new launch control system, it can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds, making it two-tenths of a second faster than its predecessor. The new Vantage also boasts a top speed of 202 mph.
In terms of its chassis, the new Vantage retains a similar aluminum platform to the previous model but has been enhanced to be 29% stiffer under cornering loads, thanks to increased underbody and strut tower reinforcement. The car also features Bilstein DTX adaptive dampers, a revised “non-isolated” steering rack with speed-sensitive variable weighting, and bespoke Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tires, all of which contribute to a sharper and more responsive driving experience.
While Aston Martin has not yet released pricing information for the 2023 Vantage, it is expected to exceed the outgoing model’s starting price of $147,000. Deliveries of the new Vantage are set to begin in the second quarter of 2024.
The release of the new Vantage represents a significant leap forward for the iconic sports car, combining enhanced performance, updated styling, and a more refined interior. With its impressive powertrain and chassis improvements, the 2023 Vantage is sure to excite enthusiasts and solidify its position as a top contender in the high-performance sports car market.
