Xiaomi’s First Car Hits the Road This Month

Xiaomi to Launch Electric Car SU7 in March

One of the big stars at the recent Mobile World Congress in Barcelona was the Xiaomi SU7 electric car. After Apple closed its electric car project, Xiaomi is set to release its own electric car very soon. The company has invested almost 10 billion euros in engineering and technology to create the car from scratch.

Apart from the car itself, Xiaomi will also open specialized dealerships for selling the SU7, along with a network of chargers capable of fast charging that will reduce waiting times. The launch date for the Xiaomi SU7 is set for March 28, with the first units being delivered to users who have reserved their cars. The event will also unveil the final price of different versions, including the performance-focused Xiaomi SU7 Max.

Moreover, Xiaomi will open dealerships exclusively for selling the SU7 next April, with a network of 59 establishments in 29 cities in China. The company has also partnered with NIO to install chargers that offer a 5-minute quick charge adding a range of 200 km, addressing one of the main concerns for electric car drivers.

In an effort to compete with Tesla, Xiaomi aims to attract a new audience in the growing electric car market in China, which saw an 18% increase in the first two months of 2024. The launch of Xiaomi’s electric sedans, the SU7 and SU7 Max, will directly compete with Tesla’s Model 3 and Model S, forcing competitors to lower prices to stay competitive in the market. Xiaomi’s integration with mobile devices and entertainment systems sets it apart in the electric car industry.
