Hispanic Man Caught Stealing Copper Pipes

An undocumented Hispanic young man from Georgia, Carlos Baños Herrera, found himself in legal trouble after being arrested for a series of unusual crimes. The Gwinnett County Police Department reports that Carlos, a 24-year-old immigrant, chose an easy way out by stealing valuable items instead of seeking employment.

Carlos targeted construction sites in metropolitan Atlanta where new houses were being built. He would return to these sites after workers had left for the day and steal copper pipes and other valuable materials, which he would then sell at a lower cost than market value. This illegal activity caught the attention of law enforcement authorities in Gwinnett County.

Using advanced technology, specifically monitoring cameras from Flock, the police were able to track Carlos and eventually caught him in the act. During a routine traffic stop, officers discovered a large amount of stolen copper pipes in Carlos’s vehicle, leading to his arrest on charges of trespassing and theft.

Carlos faces multiple charges, including property invasion and traffic violations, and is being held in the Gwinnett County Jail without bail. The stolen copper pipes have been returned to their rightful owners.

This case serves as a reminder of the consequences of resorting to criminal activities for easy money. It also highlights the importance of technology in aiding law enforcement agencies in apprehending suspects involved in illegal activities.
