Justin Allgaier Makes History at Food City 300, Advances to Round of 8 in NASCAR Xfinity Series Playoffs

In a thrilling race at Bristol Motor Speedway on Friday, JR Motorsports driver Justin Allgaier made history as he became the first driver to advance into the Round of 8 in the 2023 NASCAR Xfinity Series playoff season. Allgaier took the checkered flag at the Food City 300 and secured his position in the next round of the playoffs.

The race saw Allgaier make a decisive move on Lap 288 of 300, taking the lead and holding off the rest of the field to secure the victory. His victory at Bristol Motor Speedway earned him 59 points and propelled him to the second position in the overall standings with 2085 points, three wins, and 12 top-five finishes.

John Hunter Nemechek, who finished in third place at Bristol, currently holds the top position on the points leaderboard. Nemechek has accumulated 2095 points, six wins, and 14 top-five finishes throughout the season.

Cole Custer, who started on the pole at Bristol, failed to capitalize on his advantageous starting position and finished in fourth place. Custer gained 52 points in the race and currently sits in third place on the points table with 2069 points.
